Deciding to be an artist was a silly idea.

But I was young and full of dreams so I'll give myself a break.

I left school when I was fifteen to work in the family business, at 20 I decided I should go back to school so after thinking long and hard I chose to get a diploma in visual arts at Tafe. While I was there a job came up for a new public art project with the City of Shepparton, the Mooving Art Project, a roaming herd of 100 life-sized fibreglass cows that needed to be painted. I jumped at the chance to get my teeth into working as an artist and soon I was painting cows. Little did I know I would paint over 90 cows on the project for over 20 years! It was a great start and good bread and butter as I developed my paintings on canvas.

It just so happened that while I was at Tafe and painting cows a new nightclub was opening up in town as well, the iconic Yahoo Bar. The boys needed an interior designer to keep the place looking funky, and wanted art on the walls so it became a gallery for me to sell my paintings. By the time I was 28 the internet was in full swing and I could sell artworks online, I combined that with gallery exhibitions in Melbourne and Sydney, and art shows in other towns. In recent years I work with Gallery Alchemy in Milton NSW showing at the Sydney and Melbourne Art Fairs, Art Images Gallery in Adelaide and are thinking the time might be right to open up my own gallery in my home town of Shepp. My other passion is metal sculpture, I work with my mate Steve Tobin to build large scale metal sculptures at Tank & Tobin Sculpture Works, there's more on that below.

So was chasing my dreams and deciding to follow my heart a silly idea? Well it wasn't easiest career to carve but let's just say I'm happy with my choices.
